Privacy Policy.
Last updated: 3rd July 2026
The short version
We keep things simple. This website sets no cookies, our analytics are anonymous, and we only hold personal data you choose to give us - usually because you've contacted us or booked a consultation. This page explains the detail, as the law requires, in plain English.
Who we are
Farsight Digital Solutions Ltd ("Farsight", "we", "us") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. We are a limited company registered in Scotland, company number SC696977, with our registered office at Solasta House, 8 Inverness Campus, Inverness IV2 5NA. We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), registration number ZB231795.
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, email us at hello@teamfarsight.com.
What we collect, why, and our lawful basis
| Data | How we get it | Why we use it | Lawful basis |
|---|---|---|---|
| Name, email address, and anything you include in a message | When you email us or use our contact page | To respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to deliver our services | Legitimate interests (responding to enquiries); contract (if you engage us) |
| Name, email address, and booking details | When you book a consultation through our scheduling provider (TidyCal) | To arrange and hold the consultation | Contract (taking steps at your request before entering one) |
| IP address, browser type, and pages requested | Standard server logs generated automatically when you visit the site | Security, fault diagnosis, and keeping the site running | Legitimate interests (site security and administration) |
| Aggregated, anonymous usage statistics | Plausible Analytics (see below) | Understanding how the site is used so we can improve it | Legitimate interests (improving our website) |
We don't collect any special category (sensitive) data through this website, and we ask that you don't include any in messages to us.
Cookies
This website does not set cookies. We don't use a cookie banner because there's nothing to consent to.
The one exception involves embedded YouTube videos, explained below.
Analytics
We use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand how visitors use our site. Plausible does not use cookies, does not store IP addresses, and does not track you across other websites. The data we see is aggregated and anonymous - for example, how many people visited a page, not who they were. You can read more in Plausible's data policy.
Embedded content from other websites
Some pages include embedded YouTube videos. We use YouTube's privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com), which means YouTube does not set cookies or collect viewing data unless you press play. If you do play a video, YouTube (Google) may collect data about your viewing in line with Google's privacy policy.
Who we share your data with
We never sell or trade your personal data. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business, under agreements that restrict how they can use it. These currently include:
- Website hosting - 20i.com
- Email and business productivity - Google Workspace
- Consultation scheduling - TidyCal
- Analytics - Plausible Analytics
We may also disclose data where the law requires it, or to professional advisers (such as our accountants or insurers) where necessary.
International transfers
Where a service provider processes data outside the UK, we rely on recognised safeguards such as the UK's adequacy regulations, the UK-US Data Bridge, or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum, as applicable to that provider.
How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only as long as we need it:
- Enquiries that don't lead to work - up to 24 months, then deleted
- Client records - for the duration of our engagement, then up to 6 years afterwards to meet tax, legal, and insurance obligations
- Server logs - up to 180 days
- Analytics data - aggregated and anonymous, so it contains no personal data
If you'd like us to delete your data sooner, get in touch and we'll act promptly unless we're legally required to keep it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Access a copy of the personal data we hold about you
- Have inaccurate data corrected
- Have your data deleted ("right to erasure")
- Restrict how we use your data
- Receive your data in a portable format
- Object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdraw consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on
We don't make automated decisions about you or profile you.
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@teamfarsight.com. We'll respond within one month. There's no fee unless a request is clearly unfounded or excessive.
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113. We'd appreciate the chance to resolve things directly first.
Client project data
When we build platforms, automations, or AI tools for clients, we often process personal data on the client's behalf. In those cases we act as a data processor, and that processing is governed by our service agreements with each client rather than this policy, which covers this website only.
Changes to this policy
If our practices change, we'll update this page and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be flagged clearly.
